Do you only ... ?

We specialise in British bikes but we will work on European makes. We do not work on Japanese or American bikes (except British bikes badged as American bikes e.g. Royal Enfields sold as Indians)

What do you mean ... ?

It might be better to say that we do not work on new bikes such as the Hinkley Triumphs. The sixties and older are our prime interest.

How much ... ?

This is very much a case of "how long is a piece of string". If you need a bike to be completely stripped and brought back to perfect cosmetic condition the labour will start at $2,500. Parts or repairs/fabrications will be extra. Also take into account that a long neglected machine is a mass of rusted and seized fittings which require many hours just to disassemble. Average engine labour is $800. Customers are appraised of unexpected expenses before any commitments to them are made, and regular payments during restoration are prefered in order that a customer is not given an excessive end invoice.

Can you pick up ... ?

Yes we can. For restorations it is free within 50 miles, then by arrangement depending on circumstances. For smaller work it is free up to 20miles.

How do I get ... ?

Contact me either by telephone (607) 342-7996, or by sending an e-mail using the Contact Us link on the home page to discuss your requirements. I can then give you more information on your particular machine, and also approximately when I would be able to make a start. (I do not take bikes in, accept the deposit, and then leave them standing in a corner). For a restoration to your bike, or if having one of our stock restored to purchase, a deposit of $500 is required.

How long ... ?

This is another question that is difficult to answer as it can vary from a single month to strip, paint, and reassemble a bike which requires few new parts and no engine work, to several months for a rarer bike for which parts have to be found or made. You will be given a general breakdown of the anticipated restoration stages and kept informed of the progress of each stage.

Do you stock ... ?

Due to the wide range of machines that I work on it is not practicable for me to carry parts in stock. I am an agent for Barnett clutches and cables, and for Sammy Miller products from the UK. I place regular orders with both of these, and can get material from them within one week if needed, however shipping the for single items is expensive. Virtualy all British parts are available from my suppliers and they take approximately two days for delivery.
